Kingston Micro SD Adapter

There are many companies that make micro sd adapters and other computer memory products.  One of the most prominent of those companies is a company called Kingston. The Kingston Micro SD adapter is going to be one of the best on the market.

Kingston is a company based around the computer memory industry.  It holds a majority of the market share for third-party DRAM manufacturing, and they make many computer and computer memory related products.  In addition to DRAM, they also deal with flash memory.  Flash memory is the solid state and stable form of memory found in many electronic devices.  SD cards are a form of flash memory, and Kingston makes those as well.  They also make CF cards, and solid state flash drives which are two more types of flash memory.

In addition to the actual memory, they make memory related products.  One such product is the micro SD adapter.  They sell a variety of products for use with Kingston SD cards, in addition to cards made by other manufacturers.  One kit they sell includes a microSD card and the adapter for both miniSD and standard SD formats.  This can be purchased on Amazon for under $10.  For just $10 more, you can get a similar kit that also includes a USB micro SD adapter.

In addition to Kingston micro sd adapters, they are also stepping into the SDHC arena.  The reason why microSD cards and adapters are so cheap these days, is because SDHC is quickly taking over as the removable flash memory of choice.  Luckily SDHC is the exact same form factor as the microSD format, and as long as your adapter is formatted to work with SDHC, you can use the adapter for both type of memory.  SDHC has a much larger capacity then microSD, in the same tiny package, but next in line is the SHXC which boasts capacities in the TB range using the same form.  I am looking forward to seeing what Kingston will have to offer as SHXC becomes the dominant form of flash memory.
